From: Town Of Trumbull2022-12-30: Trumbull Adds Four New Officers to the Police Department
The Trumbull Police Department is welcoming the addition of four (4) new police officer recruits to the town’s police force. After a lengthy selections and testing process, including thorough background investigations, these recruits were sworn in on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, during a ceremony at the Police Department.
The new Trumbull Police Officer recruits are:
- Christopher Binkowitz, age 23 of Fairfield, CT
- Andrew Huzina, age 25 of Norwalk, CT
- Jacob Rodriguez, age 25 of Stratford, CT
- Ashli Vasquez, age 29 of Bridgeport, CT
The recruits are attending the Meriden Police Academy where they started on Thursday, December 29, 2022, and are expected to graduate in July 2023, when they will begin field training.
The Trumbull Police Department currently has seventy-two (72) officers in its ranks with the four (4) new employees, but is working to fill the remaining ten (10) vacant positions to attain a full authorized staff of eighty-two (82) officers.
The Trumbull Police Department is actively recruiting and hiring qualified candidates for entry level and certified officer positions, which offer many desirable benefits. The current starting salary for a Trumbull police officer is $63,676, and increases to $89,246 at the level of top-step patrol officer. Trumbull officers receive generous medical benefits, vacation benefits, life insurance, and a defined contribution 401a retirement plan, just to name a few. The police department continues to work with the Town of Trumbull towards improving the force by increasing many areas of officer benefits, seeking more applicants, and retaining these officers once they become state certified.
