The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, January 25th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our new fiber arts group The Yarn Darlings! We will meet every fourth Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. Friends of the Trumbull Library Meeting Thursday February 2nd from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a regular meeting of the Friends of the Trumbull Library. All are invited to attend. The Friends are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to advocate and raise funds for the Trumbull Library. 

Floating Palaces: The Classic Liners Sunday, February 5th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. This presentation by Rick Abramson will cover the origins of Trans-Atlantic travel from its infancy, through the halcyon years of the great Atlantic liners in the 1920's and 1930's; the great part these liners played in WWII and the decline of post-war ocean travel with the advent of Trans-Atlantic air travel. Register here.

Family ArtSmart Craft Thursday, January 26th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Join Kathy Vincent of ArtSmart! Studio for an evening of cozy creating! Young artists, together with their ADULT partner, will create an adorable cup of hot cocoa using acrylic paint, collage papers & dimensional accents on canvas board. Too cute! Paperchain Snowman Craft Saturday, January 28th from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Join us in the Merwin Room for an easy & fun snowman craft. Children will decorate their strips of paper and glue them to create a snowman paperchain/s! Younger/older siblings welcome, but please register each child.

First Tech Challenge: Robotics Competition Presentation Saturday, January 28th from 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Local teen Rahas Sachdeva and his team will be offering an hour long presentation and information session regarding the process they took over the course of this year in developing their robot for the FIRST Tech Challenge. They will go over what the competition is like, how they built their robot, and answer any questions interested students may have on how to a join a team for the 2023-2024 year. Then, at the end, they will present their robot. This presentation is open to all middle and high school students, and their parents. Registration is not required, but you may do so if you would like to receive an email reminder for the event.

Protecting you Privacy on the Internet Tuesday, January 31st from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. In this lecture, Dr. Prof. Igor Khokhlov will talk about how users can protect their privacy on the Internet. He will cover how to avoid suspicious websites, how to protect yourself while connected to public wi-fi, what threats are there, and how to avoid them. Learn how to protect your computer as well as your mobile devices. Phishing attacks will be covered as well, and how you can protect yourselves from those attacks. Registration is required.
