UWM at Waukesha Takes Last Trip

Sports and Recreation

January 23, 2025

Join UWM at Waukesha Continuing Education for our last tour with a trip to Louisville for the 151st Kentucky Derby! Join us on campus or via Zoom to learn about this trip at our Information Session, held Monday, January 27th (in-person) or Tuesday, January 28th (via Zoom). The Continuing Education department attracts over 1,000 community members each year to participate in its educational tours. Community members have traveled as far as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand to experience and learn different cultures and as close as Milwaukee for dinner and a show!

This tour to the Kentucky will be no different. Tour participants will travel to Kentucky and will experience the Derby and the Oaks races, with a hat-making class prior to the trip! A visit to Keeneland will take participants behind the scenes and a visit to the Old Friends Farm will give folks a chance to see a happy retirement home for race horses. Participants do not need to be affiliated with the University; all community members are welcome!

The tour price includes comfortable coach transportation, hotel accommodations, tour of Louisville Slugger Museum, the Frazier Kentucky History Museum tour & tasting, Old Friends Farm tour, walking tour of Keeneland, your Kentucky Oaks and Derby tickets with covered seating, food, and drinks, daily breakfast, one lunch, and one dinner.

If the Kentucky Derby has been on your bucket list, now’s the time to make it happen! Register for the Information Session to be held on Monday, January 27th at 6:30pm.
Can't make the Information Session? Join our Zoom session on Tuesday, January 28th at 10:00am or email [email protected].
