From: Alaska Governor Mike DunleavyWHEREAS, from Main Street store fronts to virtual high-tech startups, the nearly two million veteran-owned small businesses across the United States are a pillar of our economy and contribute to the success of our Nation; and
WHEREAS, veteran and military spouse small business owners in our communities are resilient, disciplined, mission-oriented, as reflected by their dedication and service to our Country; and
WHEREAS, we must empower and support the veteran entrepreneurs in our communities, recognizing the significant contributions they make to our economy; and
WHEREAS, National Veterans Small Business Week highlights the programs and services available to veteran entrepreneurs through the United States Small Business Administration and resource partners; and
WHEREAS, Alaska joins in this national effort to support veteran entrepreneurs and help them start, grow, and expand their small businesses, thereby helping our communities thrive.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim November 11 – 15, 2024 as:
Veterans Small Business Week
in Alaska and encourage all Alaskans to recognize the many contributions of Alaska’s Veteran entrepreneurs, purchase goods and services from their businesses, and help support them on their path to success.
