MADISON, Wis. — In the final weeks of the election, WisDems will be highlighting Eric Hovde’s out of touch agenda for Wisconsin, and how his policies would be disastrous for Wisconsinites if he wins. The third edition will look at Hovde’s plan to gut Social Security and Medicare, which he further unveiled on Oct 8th.
HOVDE: “You have to start changing the retirement age”
Q: “Does reform then mean to trim the benefits?”
HOVDE: “Absolutely! Absolutely!”
When someone shows you who they are, believe them.
For years, Eric Hovde called for raising the retirement age and cutting benefits for seniors. Yesterday, when asked if he still supported raising the retirement age for Wisconsinites, Hovde said unequivocally: “Yes.”
The Hovde Plan would cut all federal programs, including Social Security and Medicare, slashing hundreds of dollars per month from benefits Wisconsin seniors rely on. And as he confirmed yesterday, he would raise the retirement age, making Wisconsinites work longer for the benefits they’ve earned.
