MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH US

Join us for our 15th annual 9/11: Serve & Remember community-wide days of service. Every hand, every effort, and every moment spent in service amplifies the spirit of remembrance and unity. This is an opportunity for each of us to be part of something larger, to make a tangible difference in honor of those we lost.

On Friday, September 5th, and Thursday, September 11th, we're offering opportunities to commemorate a day that changed us forever.

Spots are filling up, but we still need your help to make a difference this 9/11 day. Register today at www.volunteernewyork.com/serve and join us as we show what New Yorkers are capable of when we work together.

Hands-Only CPR Workshop

Thursday, September 11
Westchester County Center
12pm-6pm

SIGN UP NOW!

Join us for a Hands-Only CPR workshop and gain the skills to act in an emergency.

Why it matters:

  • Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the U.S., with more than 350,000 cases each year outside of hospitals.
  • Survival often depends on immediate action from someone nearby.
  • According to the American Heart Association, about 90% of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests don’t survive.
  • Performing CPR right away can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival.

You can be that difference. Take part in this vital training and be prepared to save a life.

Create Literacy Kits with WJCS

- Thursday September 11, 2025
- Westchester County Center
- 12pm - 6pm

SIGN UP NOW!

Volunteers are invited to help create a Feelings Puppets Literacy Kit, inspired by The Feelings Book by Todd Parr. This colorful, kid-friendly book uses silly examples and vibrant illustrations to help children understand and relate to a wide range of emotions.

By making puppets to accompany the story, volunteers will give children a fun and creative way to:

  • Act out themes from the book
  • Recognize and identify their own feelings
  • Build tools for healthy self-expression

Your time and creativity will help children learn how to express themselves—and remind them it’s okay to feel all kinds of feelings.
