12 - 1 PM | Celebrate Día de Los Muertos!
1 - 2 PM | Celebrate Halloween!
Join us from 12-1 as we celebrate and learn about Día de Los Muertos. We're honored to have Ballet Folklorico Netzahualcoyotl, who will perform dances from different regions of México. We'll learn about the history of this beloved holiday, and family-friendly crafts will be available for all.
Afterwards, join us from 1-2 as we celebrate and learn about the history of Halloween. Take part in a parade and grab a treat, and enjoy family-friendly crafts for all.

Spin Me a Shadow, Tell Me a Halloween Tale

Explore Halloween shadows with Daniel Barash of Firelight Shadow Theater. After first introducing audience members to the art of shadow puppetry (including numerous puppets from Southeast Asia), Daniel will perform shadow puppetry versions of best-loved stories, including seasonal Halloween-inspired tales. Ages 5 & up. No registration is required.
Día de Los Muertos Make-Up Class for Teens

Join make-up artist, Jackpot Quiroga, to create your own beautiful Día de Los Muertos make-up look, and learn more about the rich cultural history of the Day of the Dead. Most appropriate for people aged 13 and up. All supplies will be provided, but space is limited. Registration is required. Sponsored by the Walnut Creek Library Foundation.

Our fall fundraising campaign is underway! Donors like you allow us to fund the fabulous free programs offered and essential materials and equipment needed at our Walnut Creek Libraries. The Walnut Creek Library Foundation offers many ways for you to support our libraries including the following:
