Wave Hill is pleased to announce the 2024 Winter Workspace program! The program offers two, back-to-back, six-week sessions for 12 New York area-artists to research and develop work informed by the site, ecology and history of Wave Hill. Artists are encouraged to expand their practices using resources from the garden, including access to Wave Hill’s thriving plant collections, horticultural and curatorial staff, history, architecture and visitors. Session 1 of the 2024 workspace residency begins Jan 2.

Now in its 15th year, Winter Workspace has supported more than 150 emerging and mid-career artists with studio space and funding. Wave Hill is proud to be counted among New York's prestigious and established residencies. As artists from the 2023 program testify, "...the time allowed to experiment in a new space was extremely valuable..." (Rachel Frank) "...Time in the Winter Workspace felt freeing in a way other residencies had not previously. I feel deep seeds were dropped..." (SaraNoa Mark) "...From traveling to the scenic Riverdale section of the Bronx to discussing my work with people of all walks, I developed a deeper understanding of...how I can facilitate meaningful conversations about plants with the public." (Tanika Williams)
