In the Gardens

Jewel tones abound in the October garden. Tender perennials put forth their last sets of blooms and berries darken, as the weather cools, on a range of shrubs and trees throughout the gardens. Come revel in the kaleidoscope of fall color.

Now midway through National Hispanic Heritage Month, we're delighted to share Wave Hill Horticultural Interpreter Jess Brey's recent Garden Journal entry describing some of her research into authentic sources of information about such fall favorites as dahlias, amaranths, echeverias and marigolds. Native to regions of Mexico, they are stunning reminders of the rich Hispanic heritage in our gardens. Look for more on social media as the month unfolds, and enjoy their presence in the gardens.
