WEST BEND — Modern Ledger Business Services, LLC celebrated the opening of their first location with members of The West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of West Bend on Tuesday.

According to owner Jen Becker, Modern Ledger is a professional bookkeeping business that assists other businesses and organizations with the often-burdensome labors of bookkeeping and accounting tasks so people can focus on growing their business. They also offer business consulting and QuickBooks training for businesses not quite ready to outsource bookkeeping services.

One of the popular services Modern Ledger provides are tax services; from planning, to preparing, to filing and tax analysis.

“The thing that sets our firm apart is that we want to educate our clients,” said Becker. “There’s been an overflow of people trying to get their taxes filed, signed and sent in, and it shouldn’t be like that. It should be where everyone understands and knows what’s going on with their money.”

Becker also mentioned that the business originally started five years ago, but in a virtual capacity only. However, as the business grew, the possibility of a brickand- mortar building became more and more tangible. Becker added that this is not the end, expressing hopes to expand in the future.

“The dream isn’t stopping here,” said Becker. “This is our first location, but the plan is to get this one up and running really smoothly — all the systems in place, helping the people — and then do multiple locations across the state. And, thanks to virtual services, we can also help anybody across the nation, so that’s a really neat opportunity as well.”

West Bend Mayor Joel Ongert attended the ribbon cutting and spoke about the support available from the city and the chamber.

“Being a member of the chamber is a great way to network your business and rely on connections that you will make through the chamber, so I encourage you to get involved with all the different activities that they offer,” said Ongert. “If there is anything we can do, from the city, to help you along the way, do not hesitate to reach out.”

The business is located at 347 S. Main St. in West Bend. For more information about Modern Ledger, citizens can check out their website at modledger.com.
