Author Talk and Performance with
Sharon Ruchman
In her first book and memoir, The Gift of Rudy, Sharon Ruchman, an American composer, musician, and author, chronicles the life and tragic death of her great uncle, Rudolph “Rudy” Fuchs, who was a great violinist of his generation.
After Ruchman talks about what led her to write her memoir, she will play Another Time, a musical composition she wrote in honor of Rudy. She will also play a few jazz-style piano pieces. Tuesday, 3/28 at 6PM.
Traditional Celtic Music
Traditional Irish fiddler Deirdre McMorrow and guitarist/songwriter Paul Pender will energize concert-goers with a program of traditional and original Celtic songs. McMorrow, formerly of the band Bangers and Mash from New York, has been performing for several years all around Connecticut/New York. Irishman Pender, also an author and filmmaker, performed often at his own “Old Dublin Pub” in Wallingford, as well as around the tri-state area. Sunday, 3/26 at 1PM.
This program is made possible by the Thomas F. Kilfoil Memorial Bequest, West Hartford Library Foundation.
