Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by reading an ebook or audiobook from an Hispanic author using Libby and Hoopla, the Weston Public Library's digital book resources! Libby, also known as Overdrive, has put together a collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks. Check them out here!

New Event Series: Sunday Soundscapes!

Our first Sunday Soundscapes concert brings opera to Weston!

Please join The Friends of the Weston Library for our first Sunday Soundscapes concert on September 17th at 4 pm. when we present “A Night at the Opera”. Tenor Joshua Collier headlines, with the fabulously talented singers of Opera Vermont providing popular opera, operetta, and Broadway melodies. Whether you enjoy Mozart, Puccini, Verdi or “Les Miz” you’ll find something to delight your ear and set your toes tapping!  Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $20 for adults and $10 for students. Space is limited, so be sure to make your reservation here.

Stand Up For Justice: Japanese American Concentration Camps from a Surviving Child's Perspective
Saturday, September 23 at 3pm

“Stand Up For Justice” honors Joy DeJaeger’s mother, who is currently 95 years old, and was placed in an American Concentration Camp from age 11 – 14 during World War II. The lecture demonstrates the unique challenges faced by Japanese Americans during the second World War and explores positive, peaceful and intelligent action when standing up for justice. Ms. DeJaeger incorporates her talent as a classical pianist with live musical accompaniment during her presentation. A Q & A will conclude the lecture.
