Weston Public Library is a CTLAB Partner
 
The Weston Public Library is proud to partner with the Connecticut Library for Accessible Books (CTLAB) to serve as a hub library to bring greater awareness and access to their services to more communities.
 
CTLAB, formerly known as the Connecticut State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, lends books and magazines in audio and braille formats, for free, to any Connecticut resident who is unable to read print materials due to a visual, reading, or physical disability. At the Weston Public Library, interested patrons will find an informational display behind the Circulation Desk with brochures, flyers, and equipment for demonstrations.

Build Back to School Confidence on Hoopla

In August, families will be preparing for the start of school. Children may be anxious about returning or going for the first time. Help them build the courage to step through those doors with confidence! Check out a host of great materials for all ages from audiobooks and ebooks to films FREE with your library card on Hoopla!
 
Yoga @ the Library

Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices to heal the mind and body, which originated in ancient India. Now an immensely popular practice both postural yoga is mainly a physical activity consisting of asanas (postures), accompanied by breathing exercises, and ending with meditation.

Take and Make Mason Jar Lantern
Week of August 7
 
Take home a kit for decoupage lantern! Each kit contains everything you need* to craft a hanging lantern featuing a map of Connecticut. Please register to reserve your kit. Kits will be available beginning August 7.
*Lantern only, light not included; use your own battery-powered tealight.

Trivia Night: Music!
Thursday, August 10 at 7pm
PRIZES! SNACKS! FUN!
 
Think you know music? Compete solo or with a team for prizes and bragging rights as the Music Trivia champ! There will even be a little "Name That Tune" and fun snacks! Feel free to BYOB.

Program run by the Founder and Creator of Sticker Book Publishing, David Plaue.

End of Adult Summer Reading

Summer Reading is drawing to a close at the Weston Public Library, but there's still time to get in on the fun! We specifically structured this summer's reading challenge to allow anyone to join at anytime. It's not too late to sign up or to get credit for your reading. Every 120 minutes, just 2 hours, nets you a raffle entry for our great end of summer raffle. Not to mention, by signing up you get a commemorative Weston Public Library book tote that is yours to keep and decorate! Remember to come to the library to fill out your raffle tickets and pick up your bag if you signed up online.

New Event Series: Sunday Soundscapes!

The Friends of the Weston Library is proud to announce the first annual Weston Library concert series, “Sunday Soundscapes”, to feature outstanding professional musicians in programs of classical, jazz and Broadway selections. The series will take place on five Sunday afternoons in the months of September, November, March, May, and July. All concerts will be presented in the community room of the Weston Library, 56 Norfield Rd, Weston, CT 06883.
 
Please join us for our inaugural concert on September 17th, when we present “A Night at the Opera”. Popular opera, operetta and Broadway excerpts are served up by the fabulously talented singers of Vermont Opera.  Come enjoy your favorite tunes, from Mozart to Puccini to Bernstein. Be sure to reserve a seat at our first concert by using the Eventbrite link. Suggested donation at the door is $20 for adults, $10 for students. We believe everyone should have access to this music, so if those donation levels are uncomfortable for you, please give whatever you can.
