WESTON 2025 ROAD PAVING PROGRAM
The 2025 Paving Program is nearing completion. Most roads have been finished paved, received new driveway aprons where required and curbing installed. All work is scheduled to be completed by October 31.
Finish Paved Roads:
These roads are currently undergoing deep reconstruction (Paving scheduled for the week of October 20):
Starting on Monday, October 20 there will be preventative maintenance (crack sealing) being performed on the following roadways:
Motorists can anticipate minor delays in the active work zones. This work will last approximately one week and is weather dependent.
Select driveway aprons and curbing will be completed after each road is finished paved.
This schedule may be subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
LYONS PLAIN RD REHABILITATION
The Town conducted a semi-final inspection on August 20th of the roadway rehabilitation on Lyons Plain Rd done by Grasso Construction to compile a list of remaining restoration items along the corridor to close out the project. The Town is currently waiting on dates from Grasso when this work will be done although work is expected to occur within the next few weeks. Work to be completed includes items such as repair to damaged mailboxes, removal of remaining erosion & sediment controls, repair to damaged sections of asphalt, repair to areas of roadside erosion, replacement of speed limit signs, regrading, placing of topsoil, and seeding of disturbed areas of lawn, and filling and seeding of holes left by removal of existing guiderail posts. Additionally, at the request of project abutters, the Town has received a cost estimate to paint the newly installed metal beam guardrail. The estimated cost for this work is $80,000 and Town staff intend to include this cost as a line item in the upcoming FY27 Budget. If approved, the work would be formally procured and performed after the start of FY27 beginning July 1, 2026. We appreciate the patience of all project abutters while we await the final restoration and if you have any specific concerns you may contact Victoria Houle, at [email protected].
VALLEY FORGE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION
The Town is waiting on a cost estimate proposal for the inclusion of stop sign warrant analyses and reconfiguration evaluations of both the intersection at Stagecoach Rd and Old Redding Road. A revised application to the IWWC will not be submitted until after potential roadway changes are fully evaluated. While in-person meetings with abutting property owners have currently been put on hold, these meetings will resume upon resubmission to the IWWC and all property owners are reminded that they will be afforded the opportunity to meet and/or ask questions prior to construction activities beginning and granting of any temporary rights for work on private property. We appreciate the patience of all project abutters and if you have any specific concerns you may contact Victoria Houle, at [email protected]. Please click here for a fully detailed description of the project, funding, information sessions and timeline.
