Chicago, IL - In case you missed it, the Trump White House has not hesitated to broadly cancel federal grants that support both Illinois’ farmers and meals for Illinois families in need. In response, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul has joined a lawsuit in an effort to halt this cruel, nonsensical overreach. The Democratic Party of Illinois reacted with the following:
“The current presidential administration is working overtime to threaten an Illinois program that gives business to farmers and produce to food pantries—making fresh fruit and vegetables more out of reach for some of Illinois’ most vulnerable families. Once again, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is serving as a critical barrier against inhumane Trump overreach. DPI stands behind the AG as he fights for working Illinoisans.”
