An Invitation to Discuss Christian Nationalism

October 26, 2022 7PM

A couple weeks ago I, John Heidel, wrote an op-ed about the dangers of nationalism that was published in the Star Advertiser.  It received considerable positive response and also caught the attention of Merritt Sakata who produces a program for Olelo (“Now That You Asked Me”).

Merritt Sakata has invited CCU members to be filmed having a conversation about the subject.  With the CCU Council’s approval,  Marian and John Heidel will host a discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary and will be joined by Paul Haring.  Other members and friends of CCU are invited to attend as a listening audience, to ask questions, and, perhaps, join the conversation.  This segment will be televised on Olelo sometime in December.

There are several closely connected themes to the subject of Christian Nationalism. While all of them are worthy of discussion, our time is limited and we’ll do what we can.

Please invite others who might be interested.  We look forward to a good evening!

Aloha,  John
