This Halloween, the Founding Church of Scientology of Washington, D.C. will be joining in the city’s festivities by handing out candy bags filled with a special treat for the mind — Truth About Drugs booklets from the Foundation for a Drug-Free World.
Families and young trick-or-treaters visiting the Church will be greeted with smiling volunteers and Halloween goodie bags. Alongside the sweets, each bag includes an informational booklet aimed at helping youth make educated decisions about drugs and avoid the dangers of substance abuse.
“Halloween is a time for fun, community, and safety,” said Smith, External Affairs Director of the Church “We wanted to make it a little more meaningful by giving kids something that could truly help them in life — the truth about what drugs really do.”
The Church’s Halloween activity is part of its ongoing participation in Red Ribbon Week, the national campaign promoting drug prevention and awareness.
All are welcome to stop by the Founding Church of Scientology at 1424 16th Street NW on Halloween night to pick up candy and learn more about the Truth About Drugs campaign.
