September Art Exhibit

Ruth Lieberherr's Dreamscapes:
An Exhibit of Paintings and Picture Books

Whimsical figures, faces, real and fantasy creatures inhabit Lieberherr’s paintings. Remembered places, people, feelings are transformed into unique, archetypal expressions of vibrant color and form. From her youth in Switzerland to sacred dance with her liturgical dance group, from her love of fairytales to walks among elephants in Ghana, from swimming in Walden to teaching yoga, from the mundane to the exotic and spiritual, Lieberherr’s experiences find new expression in her paintings. Mandala Mindfulness:
A Group For Creative Coloring and Connection

Many people find the drawing or coloring of a mandala to be meditative. The very nature of drawing or coloring a mandala is therapeutic and symbolic. Join us for a relaxing session of coloring and connection. We will meet on Wednesdays at 11:00 am.  All are welcome. This event is presented in partnership with the Northeast Recovery Learning Community. No Registration Required.

Join us for an afternoon of stories and building. We will read a story or two, and then have materials for an open ended building challenge. For ages 3-6. No registration required.

Dancing Ribbon Rings!
Monday, September 18 3:30 PM

Embellish your dance parties with your very own Dancing Ribbon Rings! Each child will get to design and make their own wooden rings with ribbons and tulle (and their grown-up’s help). This program is for kids ages 1-5 and their grown-ups. Register online.

Bracelet Buddies

Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of each month for Bracelet Buddies. Everyone ages 9-12 is welcome to join, no matter if you're a pro or a newbie! Come to make bracelets and friends! Register online.

Craft Night: Mini Books
Thursday, September 21 7:00 PM

Make a mini version of your favorite book, then turn it into a keychain, a necklace, or earrings! This project is for teens and adults. It will be too difficult for little ones. Please pre-register and specify which book you'd like to make. Click here to register.

Goat Yoga: Little Buddies

Join us for Goat Yoga! We'll be joining up with some teens for a Kids and Teens crossover program! We'll all gather together on the Library Lawn with some gentle and curious goats for an hour of easy yoga! Registration required.

Our Unique Mystic River Watershed

During this talk, you will hear from Michelle Liebetreu, Deputy Director of External Affairs for the Mystic River Watershed Association, about the watershed and what makes it unique. Mystic River Watershed Association's programs are working to protect water quality, restore important habitats, build climate resilience, transform parks and paths, and educate youth and community members. The Mystic River Watershed is a living system rich in fish and wildlife, including one of the largest river herring migrations in the Commonwealth and the last remaining salt marsh in Boston. It is home to 500,000 people and 21 communities including Winchester.  Register online.
