- Please come with sheet music to a prepared song (16-32 bars clearly marked) from a modern musical. An accompanist will be provided. Have a second (contrasting) song prepared in the event you are asked to sing again. If you are auditioning for a specific role, consider using a song the character sings in the show.
- Dress to move. Clean sneakers or jazz shoes, no flip flops, sandals, or bare feet.
- Bring a list of conflicts for rehearsals. Conflicts will affect casting and are not allowed after June 9th, 2023.
- To expedite the process, please start your audition form ahead of time by going to Cast98– see instructional document on our website Here. All Auditionees will need to complete an online form prior to auditions.
Other things to consider:
- This is a young adult production. Actors must be between the ages of 14-24 (13 year-old actors that are rising high school freshmen may audition)
- Keep in mind The Lightning Thief is a modern rock musical. Actors auditioning for the characters of Percy, Annabeth and Clarisse should display their belt and rock style.

Synopsis
Percy Jackson is a teenage boy who always seems to get into trouble, no matter how hard he tries to be good. When he is expelled from school for the sixth time, his mother decides that it is time for Percy to know the truth. The Greek gods are real and, what’s more, Percy is a demigod, the son of Poseidon. Along with fellow demigod Annabeth (the daughter of Athena) and best friend and protector Grover (who happens to be a Satyr), Percy must go on an epic quest to retrieve Zeus’ stolen lightning bolt and prevent war amongst the gods. The quest turns into an epic adventure, with the Furies, Medusa, and Ares (the god of war) among those wanting to stop Percy in his tracks. With time running out, Percy soon discovers that nothing is normal when you’re a demigod. (from stageagent.com)
