Celebrate Valentine week with the "loveable" characters in our Rising Stars production of Disney's Finding Nemo, Jr. This heartwarming adventure includes Nemo (of course) and his dad, Marlin. As well as "totally rad" friend the sea turtle, Crush, and the little blue fish with a bad memory, Dory.

The production is a musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie “Finding Nemo,” with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid, Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go with the Flow,” Finding Nemo, Jr. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.

Content Advisory: Family loss, scary moments. Suitable for most children.

Performances are on Friday at 7:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. All seating is reserved, ticket prices are $16 for Adults, $8 for Children under 17. Balcony pricing is Adults $10, and Children $5.

A Message from our Executive Director

I want to take a moment to express my deep appreciation for Mary Nauer, who has been an invaluable member of the Woodland Opera House family for the last 15 years. First as a backstage volunteer, then as a Board member, Board President, Marketing Coordinator, and finally as the Director of Marketing and Operations, Mary has been the backbone of our organization, tirelessly working behind the scenes to ensure our success.  

I am saddened to announce that Mary's last day in her role will be March 1st. Her departure marks the end of an era, and I want to acknowledge the impact she has had on the Opera House. Throughout her tenure, Mary's unwavering dedication, creativity, and strategic vision have played a pivotal role in our ability to thrive during the challenging post-pandemic era.

Amidst the unprecedented circumstances that have affected theater companies across the nation, Mary's marketing efforts have been critical. During a period of time that saw audiences disappearing from theatres, Mary’s marketing strategies helped to keep our audience engaged and connected. Her tireless work behind the scenes ensured that the WOH remained vibrant and resilient, even during these most uncertain times.

The Woodland Opera House family extends our deepest gratitude to Mary for her exceptional contributions and the countless hours she devoted to promoting our organization. Her passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment have left an indelible mark on our institution. As we bid farewell to Mary, we do so with immense gratitude and well wishes for her future endeavors.    

Now, please join us in welcoming Ally Heatherly as our new Connectivity Director! In this new role, Ally will build upon the foundation laid by Mary, taking charge of our Marketing and Development efforts. She brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise in theater administration, particularly in social media writing and marketing. With her prior experience as the Director of Marketing and Development at the Sacramento Theatre Company (STC), Ally has demonstrated her ability to effectively combine her passion for the arts with strategic communication to increase an organization's visibility. 

We are excited to embark on this new chapter with Ally, and we are confident that her skills and fresh perspective will be instrumental in shaping the future of the Opera House. Together, we will navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, continuing to bring the magic of theater to our community.

Disney’s Descendants: The Musical is based on the popular Disney Channel original movies. It is a brand-new musical, jam packed with comedy, adventure, Disney characters, and hit songs from the films! Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost (home of the most infamous villains who ever lived), the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island…until now. They have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

Content Advisory: Disney’s Descendants: The Musical is a family-friendly production suitable for all ages. Parents of younger viewers should be aware of the following: some scenes include Fantasy Violence (sword fighting/moments of peril), and themes of Good vs Evil are a large part of the storyline.

Performances are set for Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Reserved seating is $20 Adults, $18 Seniors (62+), and $10 Children 17 and under. Legally Blonde: August 16-31, 2024

A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie of the same name. Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

Children of Eden, Jr.: September 16-22, 2024

From musical theatre greats, Stephen Schwartz and John Caird, comes a joyous and inspirational musical about parents, children, and faith... not to mention centuries of unresolved family business! Adam, Eve, Noah, and the "Father" who created them deal with the headstrong, cataclysmic actions of their respective children. As generations pass, faith and loyalty are tested, but the bonds of family and love remain strong.

Puffs: (or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic), October 18-November 2, 2024

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. The play is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed, or endorsed by J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros., or any person or company associated with the Harry Potter books, films or play - just saying. ;)

Mean Girls, Jr.: November 14-17, 2024

This "fetch" musical from book writer Tina Fey ("30 Rock"), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and composer Jeff Richmond ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt") is packed with keen wit, an undeniably catchy score, and a sincere message for everyone. Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order?

White Christmas: December 6-22, 2024

Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean,” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages.

Amelie: January 31-February 15, 2025

Amélie is an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world but loudly in her mind. She covertly improvises small but surprising acts of kindness that bring joy and mayhem. But when a chance at love comes her way, Amélie realizes that to find happiness she’ll have to risk everything and say what’s in her heart. Be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection, and sees possibility around every corner. This comedy musical is based on the 2001 movie.

The Book of Will: March 7-22, 2025

Without William Shakespeare, we wouldn’t have literary masterpieces like "Romeo and Juliet." But without Henry Condell and John Heminges, we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever! After the death of their friend and mentor, the two actors are determined to compile the First Folio and preserve the words that shaped their lives. They’ll just have to borrow, beg, and band together to get it done. Amidst the noise and color of Elizabethan London, this play finds an unforgettable true story of love, loss, and laughter, and sheds new light on a man you may think you know.

The Big One-Oh!: March28-30, 2025

Charley Maplewood has never been one for parties – that would require friends, which he doesn’t have. Well, unless you count his monster friends, but they’re only imaginary. But now that he’s turning ten—the big one-oh-he decides to throw a birthday party for himself, complete with a “House of Horrors” theme. Of course, things don’t work out as he plans. Will Charley be able to pull it together before the big one-oh . . . becomes the big OH-NO!? Based on the book of the same name.

The Prom: April 18-May3, 2025

Four eccentric Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the high school dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. Something Rotten: June 13-28, 2025

Welcome to the Renaissance and the outrageous, crowd-pleasing musical farce, Something Rotten. Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical.
