Abuse & Rape Crisis Center (ARCC)


The Abuse and Rape Crisis Center (ARCC) offers a variety of free and confidential services including:

  • 24 hour hotline
  • counseling
  • support group
  • emergency housing
  • legal & medical advocacy and accompaniment
  • information and referrals

The staff of ARCC also provide educational programs for the community which include:

  • personal safety and internet safety
  • domestic and sexual violence information and prevention
  • training for volunteers

ARCC orginally began as the Towanda Area Women's Center in 1979. The name changed to reflect that the center serves victims of domestic and sexual violence , whether female, male or child, throughout Bradford County, PA. The mission of ARCC is to end interpersonal violence.  The vision is to ensure the safe, healthy, productive lives for all who reside in Bradford County.

ARCC receives funding from PCADV, PCAR, PCCD, Bradford/Sullivan Drug & Alcohol Programs, Bradford County United Way, fund raising and donations.
