Mission:

Alameda Unified School District is a team unified to ensure that every school creates a learning environment where every student succeeds.

Vision and Values:

The District's core values and beliefs were developed through extensive strategic planning effort undertaken in the 2002-2003. These value statements built on the foundation of a community-wide visioning process that took place in 1991 and 1996, and the District's Graduate Profile, a 1992 document that describes the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of a student who graduates from the Alameda Unified School District. Other district materials, as well as ideas discussed by Stakeholders involved in the strategic planning process, helped to shape the following statements.

We acknowledge, value and respect the diversity--race, ethnicity, gender, and socioeconomic bakground--of all students, believing each student's unique experiences can be used to leverage and maximize student achievement.

We believe the AUSD Graduate Profile Outcomes encompass a common set of skills, knowledge and attitudes essential to the total development of all Alameda students. These learnings have instrinsic value for the fulfillment of each student's future aspirations.
