Company History - 2003

ASTC's first project was chosen by Manhattan Theatre Source to be a part of their Developmental Series. THE HOUSE OF NUNZIO, written by Patrick Riviere, was presented as an AEA Showcase Production on November 23rd, 24th and 25th of 2003. The production was directed by Michael Menger. The play was named a semi-finalist for the 2003 Mill Mountain Theatre New Play Competition and The Twenty-Sixth Annual Mildred and Albert Panowski Playwriting Award. The Developmental Production was a great success and we are hopeful that the play will be produced in a larger venue sometime in 2005.

Company History - 2004

On December 6, 2004 we successfully piloted our Musicals In The Making Festival with the world premiere reading of PERFUME.

Our first cabaret brunch was a huge success as we presented six performances at Cafe Boulevard in Fort Lee, NJ on Sundays in July. Founder Patrick Riviere co-starred with two time Drama Circle Critic Award winner Kellie Johnson as patrons heard about the trials, tribulations and successes of these two veteran NYC performers.

Musicals in the Making
TRIANGLE became the second "pilot" of our Musicals in the Making Festival when we presented the reading of this fun new musical to a packed house at Manhattan Theatre Club Studios in New York City on June 19th at 7PM. A Q&A took place after the reading and the creative team received some great support and constructive feedback. We are grateful to the Independence Community Foundation for their support. Highlights of the evening came with stellar performances from Broadway's own Ann Crumb and Grant Norman. Ann was recently nominated for a Tony Award for the title roll in Anna Karenina and Grant is currently playing Gaston in the Broadway smash Beauty and the Beast.
