Arbor Chamber Music  was founded in 1991 by pianist Lenore Fishman Davis, whose goal has been to bring the highest artistic level of chamber music performances to New Jersey audiences and to cultivate a greater appreciation for the broad and inspiring chamber music repertoire. Begun in Summit, Arbor has performed throughout northern New Jersey, and now has two concert series, which take place regularly at the Burgdorff Cultural Center in Maplewood and at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Westfield.

Now entering its twelfth season, Arbor Chamber Music has achieved considerable acclaim for its dynamic performances and enriching pre-concert discussions by composer John Sichel, and is known for bringing world-class artists into intimate concert halls and into schools. The Arbor series has become one of New Jersey's pre-eminent classical music series, drawing listeners from throughout the state, and has been hailed by the Newark Star-Ledger as "a hotbed of musicianship."
Arbor Chamber Music regularly presents collaborations of today's best performers, including: pianist Richard Goode, violinist Marcia Weinfeld, the Brentano String Quartet, The St. Lawrence String Quartet, Richard, Peter and Lucy Stoltzman, violinist Emi Ohi Resnick, cellist Matthias Naegele, clarinetist David Krakauer, clarinetist Todd Palmer, violinist Mark Steinberg, the Zéphyros Wind Quintet, violinist Maria Bachmann, and pianist Lenore Fishman Davis.

Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians and listeners, Arbor instituted its Mentoring Program at Westfield High School.  Through this project, Arbor artists work directly with instrumental students in coachings, masterclasses, performances and discussions and reach about 350 gifted high school students throughout the school year.
