The Arkley Center for the Performing Arts is another fine example in the enthusiastic support to the arts and community development shown by Rob and Cherie Arkley. The Arkley family purchased the Historic Sweasey building in 2003 and bring to Downtown Eureka a beautifully restored first class performing arts center. Rob and Cherie believe that the people of Humboldt County and visitors to our community deserve a special place devoted to the enrichment of lives through the quality presentation of arts and cultural activities.
The theatre's location, versatility, size and quality will make it the preferred location for everything from school programs, business conferences and workshops to private parties and receptions. The Arkley Center will serve as a venue for local organizations to rent and host their special events. From fundraisers to top notch entertainers, local groups will bring their talents and ideas to this center stage! From dance recitals and talent shows to symphony nights and silent movies, this stage will be used by all.
In addition, the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts will host it's own calendar of professional entertainment and cultural enrichment programs. These events will include dance of all kinds, music from jazz to symphonic, country to rock, musicals, drama, comedy and unique performances from cultures around the world.
