The Arlington church of Christ is an exciting place to worship God. After every worship assembly, people walk out of the auditorium, shake my hand, and convey their excitement about worshipping God. The attitude of the saints as they file out of their pews is one of optimism, smiles, and glee. I'm not sure why I try so hard to conclude my sermon on time, because my spiritual family insists on standing around and fellowshipping for at least 30 minutes after each service. Here are some interesting facts for those interested the Arlington church of Christ:
-The town of Arlington is located in one of the fastest growing areas of Shelby County, TN - we are a suburb of Memphis - enjoying an influx of 30-40 new families each month.
-The Lord's church in Arlington has grown from approximately 70 to 130 members in the past three years.
-Since I have been the preacher, I can personally attest to the comradeship and unity among the brethren. No infighting, divisions, or schisms. One rarely hears a complainers voice.
-We are a growing, active, young congregation, but we are not immature. We have several older members who are spiritually mature that help maintain balance and provide guidance.
-We are fortunate to have two retired preachers, three faithful elders, and three passionate deacons laboring with us.
