Arlington Elementary School is located in Canby, California in Modoc County, in the far north eastern corner of California.
Arlington Elementary School is a small school with one credentialed teacher, two other staff members and an average of between 10 and 15 students, serving grades kindergarten through 5th. The school was remodeled in 2000 and has a friendly and clean environment for learning.
Arlington Elementary encourages the use of technology and has a ratio of one computer to two students.
Small group instruction is implemented in all grade levels, with the use of teacher and classroom aides. In some cases the ratio is one instructor to one student.
The curriculum is up to date with the other schools in the Modoc Joint Unified School District and is aligned with California state standards.
The school is surrounded by historic places and has much cultural history that are incorporated into the school's lessons.
The students take several field trips a year that are centered around the historic and cultural richness of Modoc County as well as other educational field trips supporting science and social studies.
The school welcomes guests who support the school by reading and sharing their special talents in their professions, offering students a look into other walks of life.
