History:
After 15 years of dreaming and planning, on December 30, 2003 Gavin and Sharilyn Grooms decided to make their dream a reality. Within 24 hours they had located the building that would become Center Street Musical Theatre. With 60 years of experience between them in the arts (music, drama, dance, etc.) they went to work and opened their first production March 25, 2004. And it’s been a roller coaster ride ever since! A year and a half later, they expanded their family business to include Art City Playhouse (formerly the Villa Theatre) in Springville.
They have just created a non-profit organization called Utah Stage Artists which will, among other things, provide education and scholarship opportunities to youth in the state. They have a large theatre family which continues to grow almost weekly. The Grooms’ have 7 children, all into the arts as much as their parents, and all blessed with musical and theatrical talents. They hope that you will appreciate the family oriented atmosphere they have created and that you will come back again and again.
