The Art School and Center Gallery at Old Church is a meeting place for learning and exchanging artistic ideas. Our goal is to provide an environment conducive to the creative process. We believe that art is an important expression of the human spirit; that creativity is an innate function, and that in a supportive and inspiring atmosphere it is bound to flourish.
Established in 1974 as a nonprofit, nonsectarian community educational facility, our mandate is to improve the quality of life through instruction in fine art and craft. Our well-equipped studios are light, spacious and barrier-free.
Our courses are designed to give students a basis in aesthetics as well as technique. A year-round program of exhibitions, cultural events and travel stimulates the atmosphere further. Supported by tuition and memberships, as well as by individual, corporate, and government contributions, the tax-exempt, nonprofit and barrier-free Center is open to all.
