At B. Gale Wilson School, learning is the primary focus. Individual differences are accepted and a variety of teaching styles are recognized and valued. With the support of the school community, children learn academic and social skills in order to become responsible citizens. We are a Learning Community dedicated to the success of all our children.
At B. Gale Wilson, parents and staff form a partnership to provide the best possible environment for building self-esteem, a sense of direction and inspiring students to become motivated lifelong learners. Students are engaged in academics that will result in a high level of achievement. Support and guidance are provided to ensure that all students master challenging curriculum. Students participate in a variety of arts, music, dance and sports activities as part of their regular and extended day. The school program also emphasizes opportunities for student involvement in community service and leadership activities.
The recognition of our school as a 2000 Excellence in Arts Education School and recipient of an Exemplary School Award in Physical Education and Health Education are the result of this very commitment. The school was honored with these awards in conjunction with earning 2000 California Distinguished School recognition. In the same year, the school received a California School Board Association Golden Bell award. The school community is proud of these awards because we recognize the challenge of developing well-rounded students. While our main focus is on developing academic ability, the school is committed to a strong physical and fine arts curriculum.
