The 1st Annual Spring Sporting Clay Shoot & Family Fun Day

Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 5 Dogs Range

In support of the award-winning Bakersfield High School Choirs,

a comprehensive choral music education program with approximately 200 students.

In 2014, these students will realize the experience of a lifetime as they travel to New York City

to perform at Carnegie Hall, experience the 9/11 Memorial & so much more!

Shooting sports are a part of Americana. Today sporting clays is one of the fastest growing sports in America, with more than three million people of all ages participating both competitively and recreationally. Sporting Clays, referred to as "Golf with a Shotgun", is an ideal shotgun sport for any person with a level of shooting interest - from beginners to serious competitors, youth and adults.

5 Dogs Range, nestled among the picturesque foothills of Kern County, is a family oriented multi-use shooting facility. The easy to walk, 1/8 mile long Sporting Clay Trail simulates gamebird hunting (and an occasional bouncing rabbit!). Teams of up to 5 persons tour the 17 stand (station) course, taking turns shooting the clay targets, each worth a point and the shooter with the most points wins!

Individuals & teams will enjoy a fun-filled day of friendly competition, prizes and awards, Continental Breakfast and BBQ. There will also be a raffle, auction, live music and entertainment for the enjoyment of all! What better way to spend a Saturday, but with family, friends and co-workers having fun and supporting a worthwhile cause for your community!

For over 100 years, the Arts have been a huge part of the Driller Tradition at BHS.

Music inspires our youth and brings joy to their lives.

Community support is essential to send the BHS Choirs to New York City.
