Description
Bancroft Elementary is part of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, and is located in Walnut Creek, California. The site houses kindergarten through fifth grade self-contained classrooms. Twenty faculty members provide instruction to the approximately 400 Bancroft Elementary students. Among its unique programs are a highly acclaimed music program, a full slate of after-school enrichment classes, a Gifted and Talented Program, a weekly Homework Club, and a Student Council-run recycling program.

Provide standards-based curriculum using strategies involving different earning styles and developing multiple bridges from concrete to symbolic, and to abstract learning.
Provide intervention for all who are academically, socially, physically and/or emotionally at risk.
Provide a school climate where wellness is promoted and diversity is celebrated and all students, staff, families, and members of the community feel appreciated and enjoy being at school.
Provide ALL staff members with opportunities and incentives to participate in meaningful staff development activities, including collaboration across and within grade levels.
Continue to provide computer instruction to students in the computer lab and utilize technology to support the curriculum in all classrooms.
