Barbara Krupp is the sole creator of each painting in this web site and in her showings. The canvases are of the highest quality and stretched professionally. Crossbars support the frames when needed. The canvases are then prepared with gesso. Barbara uses "Golden" paints, considered the finest quality acrylic paints on the market. Acrylic is a water-based medium, and we are convinced that it will prove be have the greatest longevity of all painting mediums. The paint is not mixed with any mediums and each painting is varnished for easy cleaning and protection from UV rays. Though Barbara has painted in oil and watercolor, her heart is now in acrylics.
Most of Barbara's paintings are inspired by the places she's visited. She generally begins with a simple form in mind and lets the painting evolve from there. Barbara taps into her feelings about a particular area - the beauty and the joy she experienced being there. Her aim is to capture that emotion on the canvas, therefore putting a part of herself into the painting. When she succeeds in conveying those emotions, the viewer can feel that part of her in the image, then the painting complete.
