The Bedford, Massachusetts Fire Department is here to protect the lives and property of the citizens of the town, as well as the lives of thousands of people who enter our community each day to work in the many commercial and industrial firms located here. The department is responsible for providing fire protection for several large complexes, such as the Veterans Administration Hospital, Middlesex Community College, and Carleton-Willard Village.
The career firefighters, along with the on call firefighters, provide an array of diversified skills. They are trained in Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Material Operations, Confined Space Rescue, Vehicle Extrication, Cold Water Rescue, High Angle Rescue, and much more. The firefighters work and train throughout the year to provide a professional level of fire suppression, fire prevention, and emergency medical care for Bedford 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
