Mission Statement

Belen Jesuit is a Catholic, Jesuit college preparatory school that aims at developing - through critical analysis and discussion of ideas - academically motivated young men. Our students are encouraged to strengthen their moral and religious principles and to commit themselves to lives of Christian values and service. By developing speaking and writing skills in both English and Spanish, Belen graduates are also prepared to live successfully as leaders in a multicultural community.

History

For over a century and a half, from the island of Cuba to the United States, Belen Jesuit has survived and prospered. Let's take a journey through the school's history.

March 2, 1854 - Her Majesty Isabele II, Queen of Spain issues a royal charter founding the "Colegio de Belén" (Belen School) in Havana, Cuba. Belen School begins its educational work in the building formerly occupied by the convent and convalescent hospital of Our Lady of Belen, hence the name of the school.
