Black Swamp Benefit, Inc. is a non-profit corporation created in 2001 with a two-fold mission: To raise funds for Mennonite Central Committee(MCC) and Sunshine Inc. of Northwest Ohio and to increase awareness of the work of both organizations.Black Swamp Benefit, Inc. is managed by a board of volunteers and has no paid staff members. This fundraiser is made possible through the generous support of more than 50 area churches, numerous civic groups, quilt guilds, individual donors and volunteers. Net proceeds are split evenly between Sunshine and MCC. 

MCC is the national/international relief agency of the Mennonite and Brethren in Christ Churches. Since 1920, MCC has channeled supplies to help relieve human suffering in the world. MCC now serves in 57 countries in personal ways - feeding the hungry, healing the sick, rebuilding homes, helping till soil and plant crops and encouraging peaceful resolution to conflict.Sunshine, Inc. (formerly Sunshine Children's Home) is a local Mennonite-affiliated non-profit agency serving people with disabilities and their families in Northwest Ohio. Sunshine currently provides loving care at the Children's Home in Maumee, at 15 family care homes in two counties, at individual client homes, through weekend and overnight respite programming and through supported employment and day habilitation programs.
