About Us:
Boy Scout Troop 8 has been active for more than 100 years! The Boy Scouts of America was established in 1910, and Hinsdale's Troop 8 was granted its charter in 1912.
Meetings are held almost every Monday during the school year, from 7:00PM to 8:15PM at the Evangelical Covenant Church: 412 S. Garfield St. (at the corner of 4th and Garfield.)
The troop goes camping one weekend a month to learn new skills, discover new places or return to old favorites, and have a lot of fun!
Troop 8 is boy led, using the patrol method, with encouragement and support from adult leaders.
Nearly 75% of all Troop 8 Boy Scouts go on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, compared to the national average of 5%.
Many of Troop 8’s Eagle Scout Service Projects have served the Village of Hinsdale, local schools, and the Hanson Center in Burr Ridge. Projects have included building a garage, repaving a horse path, building a "time-out” house, making bat houses, purchasing replacement American flags used in downtown Hinsdale, and washing a thousand pairs of collected shoes to donate to "Save Our Soles."
