Mission and Goals:
The primary purpose for which this corporation is formed is:
To encourage, promote and foster business and industrial development within the Bridgeport, Michigan area.
To enhance the cause of commerce and advance the general well being of the mercantile, industrial and commercial community.
To advance the education, civic, social, commercial and economic interests of the Bridgeport area and the general welfare and prosperity of its citizens and business people.
To promote and encourage aesthetic beauty within the community and its business places.
To enlighten, educate, and assist members and the general public concerning local,state and national issues and affairs.
The Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1984 by a group of 60 business people with the assistance of the Bridgeport Jaycees. The Chamber filed Articles of Incorporation in October, 1985 and was recognized as a 501 (c) 3 exempt organization in April, 1989. The Chamber conducts business with a board of twelve directors who meet on a monthly basis. The Chamber also employs an Executive Secretary.
