The Brockport Kiwanis Club was formed in June of 1926. We have just celebrated our 75th anniversary and are very proud of our traditions of community service. As you may know, "Kiwanis" is the oldest of the service clubs in the United States and was established in 1915. Lions and Rotary, while younger in origin, for whatever reasons may be better known to the public.
As the oldest service club in Brockport, we have responded to our community with both dollars and service for over 70 years. You will find Kiwanis Club members planting the flowers which surround the local public Seymour Library. Kiwanians will be ringing the Salvation Army bell at Christmas time to help the needy. At the Senior Olympics and Special Olympics, Brockport Kiwanians will be there. Over the years we have spent thousands of hours and dollars in supporting the Lakeside Hospital's MediMate program for needy senior citizens. We have established a number of local scholarships for graduating high school students. We contribute dollars and hours to support the annual Christmas time Toys for Tots program. We also sponsor a very active high school Key Club at the Brockport High School.
