Calvary Church of Lemont has the privilege of serving the rapidly expanding population and increasing diversity of our village and the south west suburbs of Chicago. Much like the area, our congregation is a gathering of people with diverse backgrounds, personalities, age groups, careers and lifestyles; yet we are united as a community by our relationship with Jesus Christ. Too often such diversity builds walls between people.
Calvary Church is called by Jesus to be a "Church Without Walls" where all are accepted and where diversity is a mark of the richness and beauty of church life. Calvary seeks to be centered in the reconciling love of Jesus that the Apostle Paul refers to in his letter to the church in Ephesus; "For Christ himself has made peace between us... He has broken down the wall of hostility that used to separate us... Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of His death..." Ephesians 2: 14-16 (NLT). Calvary Church is called to demonstrate and share this reconciling love with the southwest suburbs.
Four core values direct Calvary Church in fulfilling the calling of connecting people to Jesus and to each other; Relationship, Truth, Worship and Mission. As you become acquainted with us you will find that these four core values direct all facets of our congregational life and ministry to children, to youth, to adults, and to the surrounding community.
