Care and Share of East Lyme, Inc. is a charitable organization established in 1989 by a group of community residents to provide assistance to East Lyme families in need. Care and Share began by providing Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Chanukah meals to eight local families. The guiding principle is that all donations would assist East Lyme families, and that food and gifts would be purchased within East Lyme.

Today, Care and Share coordinates a town-wide collection and distribution of meals and gifts during the Holiday season to over 90 families. Care and Share also meets the needs of families throughout the year with emergency assistance as necessary.

Care and Share has also expanded its services to include camperships for youngsters during the summer and college scholarships for East Lyme residents.

Families are referred to Care and Share by social service agencies, churches, schools and community organizations.
