About Us :

The CCHS Foundation was formed in 1988 to support the Carlton County Historical Society in its efforts to collect, preserve, and disseminate the history of Carlton County. For the past fifteen years the Foundation has managed an endowment fund that is heldwith a local financial institution and with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. The Gerin-Fahlstrom Educational Fund is a designated fund within the Foundation which provides support for student intern projects to aid the Society.Antique photo

The Foundation has undertaken capital fund raising to provide financial support for projects to preseve and renovate the Carlton County History & Heritage Center (Shaw Memorial Building) including such things as window and roof replacement, installation of an elevator for building accessibility, and the installation of an air conditioning/humidity control system.

The Foundation has also provided support to the Society to help meet personnel expenses and benefits for employees.
