About the School District:

Central Union School District is made up of four elementary schools and is located in Central California's San Joaquin Valley. We are about forty five minutes south of Fresno. There are four schools in our district. All four are California Distinguished Schools. Our two schools located on the Naval Air Station, are National Blue Ribbon Schools. We have approximately 1800 students enrolled in all four schools. The Central Union School District has two federal facilities within its boundaries: The Santa Rosa Rancheria and the Lemoore Naval Air Station.

Leadership in Central School District is provided by a seven member board. Board members take an active part in the education of all Central children.

Central is very proud of its technology program. Classrooms have an average of 8 computers in each room and many classrooms have mini labs with 6-10 computers. Central has its own Mac OSX Server, Windows NT Server, and a local area network for each site. Every classroom is on line to the Internet. There is a wide area network throughout the district.

We are small in size but large in education, commitment, and success.

Goal:

- Closing the achievement gap for those students who are in our focus groups.
- Continuing to promote our Character Counts!!! program and curriculum
- Providing a safe school environment where all students feel safe and secure
- Continue to teach the California State Learning Standards at all grade levels.
