The mission of the Challis School District is to provide a safe and positive learning environment where all individuals can reach their full potential. 

About Us:

Comprising over 4,000 square miles of the east central portion of the state of Idaho, challis joint school district 181 includes the communities of challis, Clayton, Patterson, and Stanley in Custer and Lemhi counties.Challis is the home for the district as well as the seat for CusterCounty.The district is approximately 100 miles from Montana's western border, 186 miles northeast of Boise, and 145 miles northwest of Idaho Falls. 

The school district, which was organized in 1948, operates 4 elementary schools and one jr. /sr. High school.
