The Chariton Free Public Library exists to provide materials and services to help residents of the City of Chariton and Lucas County meet personal, educational, and professional needs. The Library strives to provide residents with up-to-date information which improves and broadens their lives and fulfills their cultural, intellectual, educational and recreational needs.
