The rich history and culture surrounding the Lodge is the stuff of cowboy legends - detailed in several books and the source of many movie plots. One of the gunfights of the Pleasant Valley War, an infamous range war that started with a dispute between the Graham and Tewksbury families, took place on the ranch.
