Vision/Mission
We are the cathedral church of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana.
We are one church, faithful to our Lord Jesus, united in mission, reaching out through service and proclamation to all for whom Christ died. We live in joyous expectation of God’s transforming power, compassion and mercy in our lives.
Christ Church Cathedral seeks to act in love towards our neighbors by welcoming, nurturing, and celebrating all so that we may serve Christ in all and all in Christ. Christ Church Cathedral strives to seek, welcome, nurture, and celebrate all our neighbors as a crossroads between Christ and the world. so that we may serve Christ in all and all in Christ.
Vision
Christ Church Cathedral desires to be at the crossroads between Christ and the world, the rich and the poor, the powerful and the disaffected, the joyful and the sorrowful, the lost and found, the infirm and the strong. In that role, we seek to participate in God’s reconciliation and to advocate for the kingdom of God. We specifically desire to act for community renewal and socioeconomic justice. We support our neighbors who are powerless, bereaved, or searching.
Core Values
We embrace the ancient traditions while speaking to the world of today. We are seekers for the meaning of life through the teachings of Jesus and we act out of a conviction that God loves all people and desires us to love one another. We specifically act for community renewal and socioeconomic justice. We value communal worship, music, and education that deepen the human experience and understanding of God. We accept all where they are and wish to walk with all in this journey.
