Vision Statement
To build a people committed to New Testament principles of church life and kingdom values; knitted together through dynamic worship, fellowship, training ministry and sending.
History
It was the last week of November 1977, when Reverends Reuben & Clarita Barruel invited a handful of Christian friends to meet with them for prayer. They shared with them their burden to build the "Bridge of Christian Love" amongst God's people, and at the same time, to win souls for Christ. Each present expressed the same desire in their hearts for the unity of the believers in Christ. Having the same burden and vision, the group continued to meet weekly at the Barruel's residence in Pittsburg, CA for prayer and waiting on God's direction.
By the first week of 1978, the group, which had now grown to more than a hundred, moved to the Fil-American Association Building, which they rented every Tuesday evening. A warm spirit of fellowship permeated all activities. The divine love and unity started being accomplished. People from different religious backgrounds have come to receive blessings.
Since the group is not backed by any denomination, but composed of people from various denominations, it was decided to have the group organized for legal purposes.
During the first year of its operation, Spiritual Renewal Fellowship of Concord, California, granted a charter to the group, but because of the growth of the work, a formation of a new corporation was necessary. Christian Renewal Ministries was incorporated May 25, 1979.
Membership was not given emphasis, but the attendance went as high as 150 to 200. Meetings were only on Tuesdays and Fridays evenings. In May 1982, God directed the leadership to start a Sunday morning service.
Since Christian Renewal Ministries' doors opened, God has used it to touch thousands of lives. Countless number of souls have come to know their personal Lord and Saviour through this simple ministry. It is our prayer that God will continue to use us according to His will, until the day we see Him face to face.
