The Church in Drive is a church plant from our mother church, New Life Christian Fellowship in Mt. Pleasant, MI. New Life is a Church of the Brethren (our denomination) congregation that has been ministering to the Mt. Pleasant and Shepherd communities since 1915. In January 2007, New Life sent Pastor Nate Polzin, who grew up attending New Life and was called into ministry by that church, to Saginaw to plant a new church and start a new campus ministry at Saginaw Valley State University, called Standing in the Gap (www.standinginthegap.us).  Gap has grown into a great Christian fellowship at SVSU.

On October 4^th, 2009, The Church in Drive launched its first Sunday morning service.  We are currently meeting for worship Sunday mornings at 11 AM.  We leased and renovated a building at 1208 Court Street, in Saginaw, MI. Soon after, the church body grew to a point where a new building was necessary.

On June 1st we did our initial move in at our current location in Bay Plaza, and continue to offer our morning service on Sundays at 11 AM.

Prayer is conversation - conversation with a Person - a real, interactive God.  We pray as Jesus taught us, and in His Name, which means we are praying for what Jesus wants done in Saginaw.  We are praying that Jesus would have His way in Saginaw, the same as He does in Heaven.  We are praying for the shalom of the city - it's peace, well-being, prosperity and wholeness.  Come talk with us.

We seek to Worship God authentically, organically - through Jesus - not in cookie-cutter services, but in spirit and in truth.  Worship is the only thing we can really give to God.  We are looking for an experiential worship time, where we connect with God for real, in numerous ways.  Come connect with us.

We are seeking relationships - real, honest, healthy solid connections with each other - true Community.  We eat together, share together, and help each other.  Come be with us.

Jesus taught us to care for the needs of those around us, and those around the world.  We want to be a blessing to the community.  We want to Serve our neighbors - near or far - in the Name of Jesus.  Not just a service project a couple times a year, but as a lifestyle.  Come work with us.

Experiencing God means more than just "going to church."  At The Church in Drive, we are focused on helping people deepen their relationship with Jesus and stay connected to Him.  Maybe you are open to God, but for whatever reason, haven't been very close to Him.  We want to create a hospitable place where we can discover more of God together.  Wherever you are in your spiritual quest, The Church in Drive has a place for you.
