Broken Bow is the County Seat for Custer County. The City operates as a strong Mayor form of government. The four council members acting as the Legislative Branch and the Mayor acting as the Executive Branch, are elected to four year terms of office.

Broken Bow City Government pursues and directly supports a wide range of community improvement and economic initiatives. the city is in a continuing program to improve housing, infrastructures and quality of life for its citizens.
